Rear Compartment Lid Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the rear compartment lid latch assembly.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the rear compartment lid (1).
3. Remove the tail/backup lamp assembly.
4. Remove the lock cylinder.
5. Remove the fasteners (3) securing the lid (1) to the hinges (2).
6. With the aid of an assistant, remove the rear compartment lid (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Using the aid of an assistant, install the rear compartment lid (1) to the hinges.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the fasteners (3) in order to secure the lid (1) to the hinges (2).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Adjust the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment.
4. Connect the wiring harness to the rear compartment lid (1).
5. Connect the electrical connectors to the rear compartment lid latch assembly.
6. Install the lock cylinder.
7. Install the tail/backup lamp assembly.
8. Install the rear compartment lid latch assembly.
9. Adjust the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment.
