P/S Return Line Replacement
Removal Procedure1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the power steering gear heatshield.
3. Remove the power steering hose retainers from the engine frame.
4. Remove the power steering hose from the steering gear.
5. Drain the power steering fluid.
6. Disconnect the power steering line at the power steering pump.
7. Remove the power steering line retainer at power steering gear.
8. Remove the hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Place the hose in position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the power steering hose to the pump.
- Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose clamp to the pump to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the power steering line at the steering gear.
- Tighten the power steering lines at the gear to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the retainers and the bolts.
- Tighten the retainer bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
5. Install the power steering gear heatshield.
- Tighten the retainer bolts to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
