Throttle Body Service
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the electrical connector (2) from the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (1).
2. Remove the intake air duct assembly.
3. Remove the snap ring (3) at the air inlet screen (2) on the throttle body (1).
4. Inspect the throttle body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits. It is necessary to open the throttle valve to inspect all surfaces.
NOTE: Do not use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). This solvent may damage fuel system components.
5. Clean the throttle body bore and throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM Top Engine Cleaner, GM P/N 1052626, or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, GM P/N X66-P, or an equivalent product.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the air inlet screen (2) into the throttle body (1).
2. Install the snap ring (3) onto the throttle body (1).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the intake air duct assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the air intake tube clamp to 2 Nm (18 lb in).
4. Install the electrical connector (2) to the IAT sensor (1).
