Fluid Pump: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure






Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Install the engine support fixture.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Remove the case side cover. Refer to Case Side Cover Replacement.
5. Remove the wiring harness as necessary.






6. Remove the oil pump to valve body bolts.
7. Inspect the oil pump for foreign debris, clean or replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure






1. Install the oil pump to the valve body.





Notice: Use a torque wrench to tighten the pump to valve body bolts. Do not exceed the torque specifications.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the oil pump to valve body bolts.

^ Tighten the oil pump to valve body bolts to 8 Nm (70 inch lbs.).





3. Install the wiring harness, if removed.
4. Install the case side cover. Refer to Case Side Cover Replacement.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the engine support fixture.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Check the fluid level. Refer to Fluid Capacity Specifications.
