Fasten Safety Belt Warning

If the driver's seat belt is unbuckled, the LH front seat belt switch closes, which applies a ground signal input to the body control module (SBM). When the ignition switch is turned to the START or RUN position, the SBM turns on the fasten seat belt warning chime for 4-8 seconds. The module, at the same time, applies a control signal and lights the FASTEN BELTS indicator for 4-8 seconds. When the chime stops, the indicator illuminates for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, the indicator flashes. If the driver' 5 seat belt is buckled during the 4-8 second warning period, the chime stops and the indicator turns off.
