Wiper Transmission Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator




1. Remove the wiper arms.
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel.

IMPORTANT: The hole in the right-hand side of the plenum must be used for transmission removal. Rotate the transmission as necessary to extract it from the plenum.

3. Remove the transmission drive link socket from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator.




4. Remove the six screws and the transmission from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the transmission onto the vehicle with six screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 8 N.m (70 lb in).

IMPORTANT: The socket must be fully seated on the ball.




2. Install the transmission drive link socket to the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer.
3. Install the air inlet grille panel.
4. Install the wiper arms.
