Power Mirrors

The vehicle is equipped with power mirrors controlled by the Driver Door Module (DDM) and the Passenger Door Module (PDM) in the driver and passenger front doors. The control modules move the power mirrors in response to direction from the mirror control switches located on the Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA).

The DDSA, DDM and PDM are joined together by a serial data circuit unique to the door module system. This is the Simple Bus Interface (SBI) serial data circuit.

The processor in the DDSA detects the switch positions of the mirror selector and mirror direction switches. The DDSA then sends this data to the DDM via the SBI. The DDM then either powers the driver door mirror motor circuits or sends data to the PDM. The PDM then powers the passenger door mirror motor circuits.
