Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front

Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) .
2. Remove the front seat side air bag. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Front Seat Side Impact Inflator Module Replacement.




3. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
4. Remove the map pocket panel (3) by pushing up and then out at the bottom to release the attachment hooks.
5. Release the attachment hooks from the following locations:

* The back of the frame
* The bottom of the frame

6. Disconnect the seat heater electrical connector if necessary.




7. Press in at the sides and push upwards to release and remove the rear seat belt height adjuster trim cover.




8. Remove the height adjuster closeout ring from the seat back cover attachment hook.




9. Remove the three screws and remove the height adjuster front trim cover.
10. Work the cover and pad up on the seat back frame.
11. Remove the lower seat belt retractor trim cover.




12. Remove the seat belt retractor assembly retaining nut and remove the retractor assembly.




13. Feed the lower seat belt retractor assembly through the height adjuster opening and remove the cover and pad.




14. Remove the seatback cover (2) from the seatback cushion (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Feed the seat belt retractor assembly through the height adjuster opening in the cover and pad.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the lower seat belt retractor assembly in position and install the retaining nut.

Tighten the seat belt retractor retaining nut to 41 N.m (55 lb ft)





3. Align the seatback cover (2) on the seatback cushion (1).
4. Press the seams into position.
Engage the hook and the loop.
5. Align the seatback cover and pad to the frame.
Route the heated seat wire along the seat back frame if necessary.
6. Work the top and the bottom of the cover (2) over the seatback cushion.




7. Latch the J-channel to the seatback and seat bottom.
8. Work the sides of the cover over the seatback cushion.
9. Install the height adjuster forward trim cover and retainers.




10. Install the cover J channel to the closeout ring and install the closeout ring.
11. Install the height adjuster rear trim cover.
12. Install the front seat side air bag. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Front Seat Side Impact Inflator Module Replacement.
13. Install the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
14. Install the map pocket back panel.




15. Install the front seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) .
