Cruise Control Module: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the fuel injector site shield.
2. Push the lock release and remove the cruise control cable at engine bracket and throttle body
3. Disconnect the cruise control cable (1), and connector (2), from module assembly connector (3).
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from module assembly.
5. Remove the retaining nuts (2), and module (1), from mounting studs.
6. Remove the cruise control module bracket bolts (3) from the module bracket (2) and module (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install cruise control module (1) to bracket (2).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the module to bracket bolts (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 7.5 N.m (66 lb in).
3. Install cruise control module (1) onto studs on cowl.
4. Install two nuts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bracket retaining nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
5. Connect the electrical connector to module.
IMPORTANT: Do not twist the ribbon when connecting the cable to the module.
6. Install the cruise control cable (1) to the module assembly connector (3).
7. Install the cruise control cable housing connector (3) to engine bracket and throttle body (1, 2).
8. Adjust the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment
