ABS
The IPC illuminates the ABS indicator whenever the antilock brake systems changes status and during the bulb check. The indicator operates via class 2 serial data or by a discrete input from the
Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). The class 2 input is the primary method of determining the indicator status. If a class 2 condition occurs and there is fault in the antilock brake system, the discrete input opens and illuminates the indicator. When the fault is no longer present, the discrete input closes and commands the indicator OFF. If a system condition commands the ABS indicator ON, and the vehicle has traction control, the IPC also displays the TRACTION OFF indicator.
