Air Bag

The IPC illuminates the AIR BAG indicator whenever the inflatable restraint Sensing And Diagnostic Module (SDM) sends a class 2 message requesting illumination, via the class 2 serial data line. The IPC flashes the indicator 7 times during the bulb check. The IPC illuminates the indicator until the IPC receives a deactivate class 2 message from the SDM. The IPC illuminates the AIR BAG indicator whenever the IPC detects a loss of communications with the SDM.
