ACCUMULATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39500-B A/C Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging (ACR4) System




1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the evaporator line fastener.




3. Remove the A/C accumulator hose from the evaporator.




4. Remove the A/C accumulator hose from the accumulator.
5. Remove the accumulator hose from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Electronic Halogen Leak Detector




1. Install the A/C accumulator hose to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the A/C accumulator hose to the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the connection to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).




3. Install the A/C accumulator hose to the evaporator.




4. Install the evaporator line fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the A/C accumulator hose connection to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

5. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
6. Test the A/C system for leaks using the J 39400-A. Refer to Leak Testing.
