Bracket Replacement - Steering Column




REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering column.
3. Remove the two fasteners retaining the steering column support bracket (1) to the IP carrier
4. Remove the steering column support bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Apply LOCTITE(R) 242 on threads of both fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bracket (1) to the IP carrier with the fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the steering column.
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
