Side Impact Module Replacement - LH

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the driver seat from the vehicle.
3. Place the seat on a workbench.
4. Unclip the J-clip that is along the lower rear seat back.
5. Remove the seat back cover.
6. Note the routing of the Side Impact Air Bag (SIAB) module pigtail harness and retaining clip attachment points within the seat back and seat bottom.
7. Remove the harness retaining clips from the seat frame.
8. Gently pull the pigtail harness up into the seat back while guiding the harness through the wire triangle of the seat frame.
9. Remove the fasteners from the SIAB module.
10. Remove the SIAB module from the seat while guiding the pigtail harness through the trim cup.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the side impact air bag (SIAB) module to the seat while guiding the pigtail harness through the trim cup.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

2. Gently pull the pigtail harness down into the seat cushion while guiding the harness through the wire triangle of the seat frame.
3. Install the harness retaining clips to the seat frame.
4. Install the seat back cover.
5. Connect together the J-clip that is along the lower rear seat back.
6. Install the driver seat in the vehicle.
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
