Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

System Operation

The headlamps are controlled by the headlamp switch located on the instrument panel. If you pull the headlamp knob out halfway, it will turn on the parking lamps and the operating lamps. If you pull the headlamp knob all the way out, the headlamps will come on. Push the headlamp knob all the way in to turn off all the lamps. A warning chime will sound if you open the driver's door when you turn the ignition switch to OFF or ACC with the lamps on. To change the headlamps from low beams to low beams, or high to low, pull the multifunction lever all the way toward you, then release the multifunction lever. To use the flash-to-pass pull the multifunction lever toward you a little, but not so far that you hear a click. If the headlamps are off or on low-beam, the high-beam headlamps will turn on. The high-beam will stay on as long as you hold the lever toward you. The high-beam indicator on the instrument panel will come on during this operation. Release the multifunction lever to turn off the high-beams headlamps.
