Horn Switch: Service and Repair
On VehicleRemoval Procedure
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Air Bags and Seat Belts
2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Air Bags and Seat Belts
3. Disconnect the horn wiring connector from the steering column
4. Remove the horn switch retaining bolts (5) from the horn switch (3).
5. Remove the horn switch (3) from the steering wheel (6).
Installation Procedure
1. Position the horn switch (3) to the steering wheel (6).
2. Connect the horn wiring connector to the steering column
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the horn switch retaining bolts (5) to the horn switch (3).
^ Tighten the horn switch retaining bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
4. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Air Bags and Seat Belts
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Air Bags and Seat Belts
