Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General information.
3. Remove the hoses from the canister. Mark the hoses to ensure correct installation on the new canister.

IMPORTANT: Inspect the canister hoses for damage or deterioration. Refer to Emission Hose Routing Diagram for proper routing of the canister hoses. When replacing the lines, use the correct replacement part.

4. Carefully lower the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement.
5. Release the canister from the retaining strap.
6. Remove the canister.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the canister.
2. Secure the canister to the canister bracket.
3. Install the hoses to the canister. Make sure the connections are correct.
4. Install the fuel tank.
5. Lower the vehicle.
