Range Selector Cable Replacement (at Column Shift Control)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Automatic Transaxle Range Selector Cable Caution In Service Precautions.





1. Remove the range selector cable retainer for the automatic transaxle (A/T) from the stud in the engine compartment.
2. Remove the steering column filler panel.





3. Remove the A/T range selector cable from the shift control lever.
4. Remove the A/T range selector cable from the PNP switch. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Adjustment.





5. Remove the A/T range selector cable through the hole in the dash.

Installation Procedure

Caution: Refer to Automatic Transaxle Range Selector Cable Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Install the A/T range selector cable through the hole in the dash.





2. Properly route and position the A/T range selector cable.
3. Install the A/T range selector cable to the PNP switch. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Replacement (A/T PNP Switch) or Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Replacement (A/T Console Shift Control) or Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Replacement (A/T Column Shift Control) or Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Replacement (New Cable Installation).





4. Install the A/T range selector cable to the shift control lever.
5. Install the steering column filler panel.





6. Install the A/T range selector cable retainer to the stud in the engine compartment.
7. Adjust the transaxle side A/T range selector cable. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Adjustment.
