Theftlock

The "Theftlock" theft deterrent system is a feature on base and uplevel radios. The Theftlock feature may be enabled or ignored. If ignored, the system plays normally and the radio is not protected. If enabled the radio will not operate if battery power is removed for more than 15 seconds. If the battery loses power for any reason, you must unlock the radio with the secret code before it will operate.

Enabling Theftlock
The following procedure is used to enter your secret code:
1. Select any three of four digit code number between 000 and 1999.
2. Turn On the ignition, with the radio Off.
3. Press and hold the preset 1 and preset 4 buttons until dashes are shown on the display.

IMPORTANT: Only 15 seconds are allowed between each of the following steps.

4. Press and release the MIN button and 000 will appear on the display.
5. Press the MIN button to make the last two digits agree with your selected code.
6. Press the HRS button to make the first one or two digits agree with your selected code.
7. Press the AM-FM button after you have entered your code. The display will show REP. Now repeat the steps to re-enter your code for verification.
8. Press the AM-FM button. The display will show SEC to let you know that the radio is secure.

Disabling Theftlock
The following procedure is used to disable theftlock:
1. Turn On the ignition, with the radio Off.
2. Press and hold the preset 1 and preset 4 buttons until dashes are shown on the display.

IMPORTANT: Only 15 seconds are allowed between each of the following steps.

3. Press and release the MIN button and 000 will appear on the display.
4. Press the MIN button to make the last two digits agree with your code.
5. Press the HRS button to make the first one or two digits agree with your code.
6. Press the AM-FM button after you have entered your code. The display will show - - -, indicating that the radio is no longer secure. If the code entered is incorrect, SEC will appear on the display. The radio will remain secured until the correct code is entered.

Unlocking Theftlock After A Power Loss
If battery power is removed, LOC will appear on the display after power is restored. Enter the security code in order to unlock the system.
1. Turn On the ignition LOC will appear on the display.

IMPORTANT: Only 15 seconds are allowed between each of the following steps.

2. Press and release the MIN button and 000 will appear on the display.
3. Press the MIN button to make the last two digits agree with your code.
4. Press the HRS button to make the first one or two digits agree with your code.
5. Press the AM-FM button after you have entered your code. The display will show SEC, indicating that the radio is now secure.

If the wrong code is entered eight times, INOP will appear on the display. You must wait one hour, with the ignition On, before any more attempts can be made. Now you only have three attempts before INOP appears on the display.
