Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer toDisabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the right side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) .
3. Remove the right side IP endcap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right Side (Instrument Panel (IP) - Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right) .
4. Remove the IP cluster. Refer toInstrument Cluster Replacement (Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Replacement) .
5. Remove the retaining screws from the data link.
6. Remove the IP lower trim panel. Refer toInstrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
7. Remove the retaining screws fastening the right side vent duct.
8. Remove the retaining screws fastening the left side vent duct.
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the temperature sensors.
10. Remove the right vent duct.
11. Remove the left vent duct.
12. Remove the radio. Refer toRadio Replacement in Entertainment.
13. Remove the heater and A/C control assembly. Refer toHVAC Control Module Replacement in HVAC.
14. Remove the right side vent duct fastener.
15. Remove the right side vent duct.
16. Remove the speaker. Refer toRadio Front Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
17. Remove the right and left windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer toWindshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement) in Interior Trim.




18. Remove the fasteners securing the IP trim pad.
19. Pull the IP trim pad rearward slightly.
20. Remove the IP trim pad.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the IP trim pad partway.
2. Align the IP trim pad with the carrier.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the fasteners securing the IP trim pad.

Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the left and right windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer toWindshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement) in Interior Trim.
5. Install the speaker. Refer toRadio Front Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
6. Install the right side vent duct.
7. Install the right side vent duct fastener.
8. Install the heater and A/C control assembly. Refer toHVAC Control Module Replacement in HVAC.
9. Install the radio. Refer toRadio Replacement in Entertainment.
10. Install the left vent duct.
11. Install the right vent duct.
12. Install the retainers fastening the left vent duct.
13. Install the retainers fastening the right vent duct
14. Install the IP lower trim panel. Refer toInstrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
15. Install the retainers fastening the data link.
16. Install the IP cluster. Refer toInstrument Cluster Replacement (Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Replacement) .
17. Install the right side IP endcap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right Side (Instrument Panel (IP) - Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right) .
18. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) .
19. Enable the SIR system. Refer toEnabling the SIR System in SIR.
