Keyless Entry Receiver: Description and Operation

The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) module is the door lock master device. This means the RCDLR has final control over whether or not doors will lock or unlock.

When the passenger door lock switch is activated, the switch signal is received by the passenger door module and then sent, via the SBI line, to the driver door module.

When the driver door lock switch is activated, the signal is received first by the Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA), and then sent, via the SBI line, to the Driver Door Module (DDM).

Once the driver door module (DDM) has received lock switch information from either door lock switch, it sends the information on to the RCDLR by the class 2 serial data line.

The RCDLR will not allow any doors to be locked with the power lock system unless the key is out of the ignition and the doors are all closed. Each door has an ajar switch which closes when the associated door is opened. Passenger door ajar switch status is detected and reported by the passenger door module or the rear door module to the driver door module over the SBI. The DDM then reports the status of each passenger door ajar switch, as well as the driver door ajar switch status to the RCDLR via the Glass 2 serial data system.
