Bulletin No.: 02-08-50-010

Date: December, 2002

TECHNICAL

Subject:
Power Seat Adjuster Inoperative
(Reconnect Or Replace Adjuster Cables)

Models:
2001-2003 Buick Century, Regal
2001-2003 Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo

Condition

Some customers may comment that the horizontal or vertical power seat adjuster in the driver or passenger seat may be inoperative.

Cause

Technicians may find that the power seat adjuster cables have been damaged or disconnected. This may have been caused by objects pushed under the front seat.

Correction

Reconnect or replace the power seat adjuster, horizontal or vertical cables. Refer to the Drive Cable Replacement-Horizontal and Vertical procedures in the Seats sub-section of the Service Manual. Up to now, it was necessary to replace the entire seat adjuster assembly because the individual cables were not available separately.
