Split Bench Seat Replacement

Removal Procedure


Important: With the leather seat option, the left, front seat is equipped with a side impact air bag. This must be disabled before any work is done on this seat.


1. If the seat is equipped with and air bag, refer toSIR Service Precautions in SIR.
Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement (Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement) .




3. Remove the front seat adjuster track covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement (Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement) .
4. Position the front seat forward to between the mid-position and full forward and also the full-up position.
5. Remove the front seat adjuster to floor pan bolts.




6. Remove the seat belt anchor plate nut.
7. Disconnect the front seat electrical connectors.
8. Tip the seat forward to remove it from the front hook attachments.
9. Remove the front seat from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the front seat into the vehicle.
2. Tip the front seat forward to engage the front hook attachments.
3. Connect the front seat electrical connectors.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the front seat adjuster to floor pan bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

5. Reposition the front seat to the full back position.
6. Install the front seat track adjuster covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement (Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement) .




7. Install the seat belt anchor plate nut.

Tighten the nut to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

8. Install the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement (Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement) .
9. Enable the SIR system if seat is equipped with air bag. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
