Disc Brake Hardware Replacement- Front

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket and support the brake caliper (2) with heavy mechanic's wire (1), or equivalent. Do NOT disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper.





2. Remove the brake pads (2) from the brake caliper bracket.
3. Remove the brake pad retainers (1) from the brake caliper bracket.





4. Remove the brake caliper bracket.
5. Mount the brake caliper bracket (1) in a vise.
6. Using a flat bladed tool or punch carefully tap the pin bolt boots (2) from brake caliper bracket (1).





7. Remove the bushings (2) from the brake caliper bracket mounting bores.
8. Carefully insert a small screw driver into the brake caliper bracket mounting bore and rotate and pull the bushing outward to remove.

Installation Procedure

Important:
^ Clean all parts in clean, denatured alcohol.
^ Dry with low pressure, non-lubricated, filtered air.
^ Inspect the brake caliper bracket for cracks. If cracked, replace bracket.

1. Lubricate the bushing with high temperature silicone lubricant.
2. Install new bushings into bracket mounting bores.
3. Using the caliper pin bolt push the new bushings into the bottom of the brake caliper mounting bore.
4. Lubricate with high temperature silicone lubricant and install new pin bolt boots.
5. Install the brake caliper bracket.





6. Install the brake pad retainers (1) to the caliper bracket.
7. Install the brake pads (2) to the caliper bracket.
8. Install the brake caliper.
