Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (IP) Upper

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.

Important: Remove the upper trim panel slowly. The retainer clips could possibly fall into the instrument panel (I/P).


2. Lift the I/P upper trim panel up approximately 51 mm (2 in). Pull rearward to release the I/P upper trim panel retainers.
3. Rotate the ambient light sensor counterclockwise to release the sensor from the I/P upper trim panel.
4. If equipped, rotate the sun load sensor counterclockwise to release the sensor from the I/P upper trim panel.
5. Remove the I/P upper trim panel.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel to the I/P.
2. Position the ambient light sensor to the I/P upper trim panel opening. Rotate the sensor clockwise to secure the sensor into place.
3. If equipped, position the sun load sensor to the I/P upper trim panel opening. Rotate the sensor clockwise to secure the sensor into place.
4. Align the I/P upper trim panel locating pins and retainers to the slots in the I/P.
5. Carefully push down and forward on the I/P upper trim panel to secure the panel into place.
6. Install the windshield pillar garnish moldings Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.
