Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair
ACCELERATOR CONTROLS PEDAL REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left instrument panel sound insulator.
2. Remove the accelerator cable (5) from accelerator pedal (1).
3. Remove the bolt (2) and the stud (3) from the accelerator pedal.
4. Remove the accelerator pedal.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the accelerator pedal (1) to the bulkhead (4).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Caution and Notices.
2. Install the accelerator pedal bolt (3) and the stud (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt and the stud to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
3. Install the accelerator cable (5) to accelerator pedal (1).
IMPORTANT: Inspect for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Inspect for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal.
4. Install the left instrument panel sound insulator.
