Door Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure

1. Mark the location of the hinges (upper and lower) on the door.
2. Remove the door trim panel.
3. Remove the door module.
4. Remove the water deflector.
5. Remove the inside door handle.
6. Remove the energy absorber pad.
7. Remove the window inner belt seal strip.
8. Remove the window outer belt seal strip.
9. Remove the door window.
10. Remove the window regulator.
11. Remove the stationary window.
12. Remove the door frame applique.
13. Remove the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip.
14. Remove the front window run channel.
15. Remove the door latch.
16. Remove the outside door handle.
17. Remove the upper auxiliary weatherstrip.
18. Remove the door check link.
19. Open the front door.




20. Insert a small flat bladed tool between the door wire harness conduit (2) and the hinge pillar in order to depress and release the tab (3)




21. Remove the door wire harness from the hinge pillar.
22. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.




23. Remove the wiring harness clips (2).
24. Remove the rubber conduit and wiring harness from the door.




25. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
26. With the aid of an assistant, lift the door to remove.
27. Remove the door hinges.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the door hinges to the pillar and the door.
2. With the aid of an assistant, align the door hinge halves and lower the door so the hinge halves mate together.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Apply Loctite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382, or Canadian P/N 10953489, or an equivalent to the intermediate door hinge fasteners.
Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the door check link.
5. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate rear door hinge fasteners with body color paint.




6. Route the wiring harness and conduit into the door.
7. Install the door wiring harness clips (2) to the inner door panel.




8. Connect the door wiring harness electrical connector to the body wiring harness electrical connector.
9. Install the upper auxiliary weatherstrip.
10. Install the door latch.
11. Install the outside door handle.
12. Install the front window run channel.
13. Install the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip.
14. Install the door frame applique.
15. Install the stationary window.
16. Install the window regulator.
17. Install the door window.
18. Install the window outer belt seal strip.
19. Install the window inner belt seal strip.
20. Install the energy absorber pad.
21. Install the inside door handle.
22. Check the door for proper adjustment.Refer to Door Adjustment.
23. Install the water deflector.
24. Install the door module.
25. Install the door trim panel.
