Sunroof Module Replacement

J 44363 Sunroof Alignment Pins
Removal Procedure
1. If replacing the sunroof module with a new replacement module, remove the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement.
2. Remove the sunshade panel.
3. If reinstalling the original sunroof, cycle the sunroof window to the rear.
4. Remove the headliner.
5. Disconnect the electrical harness.
6. Cut the tie wraps from the drain hoses.
7. Disconnect the drain hoses from the sunroof module.
8. Remove the sunroof module to roof bolts (1).
9. When lowering the sunroof module, ensure the coaxial cable to the antenna module does not interfere with the sunroof module.
10. Remove the sunroof module from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the sunroof module into the roof opening.
2. Ensure not to pinch the coaxial cable to the antenna module located at the left rear side of the inner roof panel.
3. Hand start the 2 center sunroof module bolts (1) into the roof in order to hold the sunroof module into position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Use the J 44363 in order to align the sunroof to the sunroof opening. Install and hold the alignment pins through the sunroof module holes (2) into the roof alignment holes.
Tighten all of the sunroof module bolts (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
5. Remove the alignment pins.
6. Install the drain hoses to the drain spouts on the sunroof module.
Important: When installing the new drain hose tie wraps, position the tie wraps to maintain clearance between the tie wraps and the headliner.
Secure the drain hoses to the sunroof module with new tie wraps.
7. Connect the electrical harness to the sunroof module.
8. Install the sunshade.
9. Install the sunroof window and loosely install the screws.
10. Adjust the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Glass Height and Opening Fit Adjustment.
Important: Verify the proper operation of the sunroof before installing the headliner.
11. Install the headliner.
