Trim Pad Replacement - IP Upper (with HUD)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the defroster grill.




3. Remove left and right windshield garnish moldings.
4. Remove the left IP outer trim cover.
5. Remove the right IP outer trim cover.
6. Remove the fasteners (1, 2, 3) that secure the IP upper trim pad to the carrier.
7. Lift the pad upward in order to disengage the retainers from the IP.
8. Disconnect the sunload sensor (4).

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the sunload sensor (4).
2. Align the IP upper trim pad with the retainers and press down in order to engage.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the fasteners (1, 2, 3) in order to secure the IP upper trim pad to the carrier.

Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the right IP outer trim cover.
5. Install the left IP outer trim cover.
6. Install left and right windshield garnish moldings.
7. Install the defroster grill.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
