Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Tools Required
^ J23653-SIR Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor
^ J42137 Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor Adapter

1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.





2. Remove the bearing retainer using J23653-SIR and J42137 and dispose of it.
3. Remove J23653-SIR and J42137 from the steering shaft assembly.





4. Remove the shaft lock shield assembly (1).
5. Remove the turn signal cancel cam assembly (2).
6. Remove the upper bearing spring (3).
7. Remove the upper bearing inner race seat (4).
8. Remove the inner race (5).
