Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair



Window Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure






Caution: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution in Service Precautions.

Caution: Refer to Express Window Down Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the door control module.
3. Peel the water deflector down far enough in order to access the window clamp bolts. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door.
4. Remove the window inner belt molding.
5. Reconnect the power window switch.
6. Tape the window in the closed position.
7. Loosen the window regulator to window clamp fasteners 4 revolutions.
8. Lower the window regulator in order to separate the window from the clamps.
9. Remove the tape.
10. Remove the window by tilting the window forward then pulling the window up and out of the door.

Installation Procedure






Important: The window regulator should be at least 1/2 way down before installing the window.

1. Install the window down into the door.
2. Locate the window into the 2 window regulator clamps.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important: Start the vehicle to ensure maximum power to the window motor. This is required in order to fully seat the window for adjustment.

3. Raise the window to the fully closed position.

Tighten the window clamp fasteners to 11 N.m (98 lb in).

4. Install the window inner belt molding.
5. Ensure proper operation and tight seal of the window.
6. Install the water deflector.
7. Install the door control module.
8. Install the door trim panel.
