Rear Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair



Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the door module.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Tape the window in the closed position.
5. Loosen the window regulator to window clamp fasteners 4 revolutions.
6. Lower the window regulator about 1/2 way down.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the power window motor.
8. Remove the window regulator to inner door panel fasteners (1,2,3).
9. Remove the window regulator.

1. Tilt the motor end of the window regulator to the forward end of the door.
2. Tilt the top of the regulator toward the lower, rear corner of the door.
3. Remove the regulator through the front access hole in the door panel.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the window regulator into the door through the front access hole in the door panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the window regulator fasteners in the following order:

1. Tighten the fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
2. Tighten the fastener (3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Tighten the fastener (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

3. Remove the tape from the window.
4. Lower the window into the window regulator clamps.
5. Connect the power window motor electrical connector.

Important: Start the vehicle to ensure maximum power to the window motor. This is required to fully seat the window for adjustment.

6. Raise the window to the fully closed position.

Tighten the window clamp fasteners to 11 N.m (95 lb in).

7. Inspect the window for proper operation and a tight seal before installing the water deflector and the trim panel.
8. Install the water deflector.
9. Install the door module.
10. Install the door trim panel.
