Compartment Replacement - IP

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the right instrument panel (I/P) insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) .
2. Open the I/P compartment.
3. Release the loop of the damper cord (1) from the I/P support.
4. Remove the screws from the I/P compartment hinge.




5. Press inward on both sides of the I/P compartment housing and rotate down and out of the I/P.



Installation Procedure





1. Align the compartment housing to the I/P.
2. Press inward on both sides of the I/P compartment housing and rotate upward and into the I/P.
3. Hand tighten the screws to the I/P compartment hinge.
4. Align the I/P compartment housing to the I/P for the proper fit.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the screws to the I/P compartment hinge.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).





6. Open the I/P compartment.
7. Connect the loop of the damper cord (1) to the I/P support.
8. Close the I/P compartment.
9. Install the right I/P insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) .
