Electric Park Lock Module - Disassemble

Electric Park Lock Module - Disassemble -Off Vehicle

- Tools Required
- J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture





1. Remove the tilt knob.

Important: Place the steering column in the CENTER position.

2. Put the steering column and J 41352 into a vise.





3. Use a small screwdriver to pull the filler plug out of the bottom of the lower trim cover.
4. Insert the small screwdriver into the filler plug hole in the bottom of the lower trim cover.





5. Use the screwdriver to push up on the manual override of the electric park lock (1).
6. Turn the key to the LOCK position. Remove the key.





7. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (1) from the lower trim cover (2).
8. Remove the lower trim cover (2) from the upper trim cover.





9. Tilt the lower trim cover down.
10. Slide the lower trim cover backward in order to disengage the locking tabs.





11. Remove the 2 TORX head screws (1) from the upper trim cover (2).
12. Remove the upper trim cover (2) from the steering column.





13. Remove the black connector (2) from the electric park lock (3).
14. Remove the TORX head screw (1) from the electric park lock (3).





15. Press on the electric park lock (2) with a small screwdriver and at the same time pull the electric park lock (2) out of the electronic lock module assembly (1).
