Bracket Replacement - Steering Column

Removal Procedure





1. Disable the SIR system. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
2. Remove the steering column. Refer toSteering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
3. Remove the 2 fasteners retaining the steering column support bracket (1) to the I/P carrier
4. Remove the steering column support bracket.



Installation Procedure





1. Apply LOCTITE(R) 242 on threads of both fasteners.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bracket (1) to the I/P carrier with the fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the steering column. Refer toSteering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
