Spark Plug Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
2. Remove the spark plugs from the engine.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Measure the spark plug gap on the spark plugs to be installed. Compare the measurement to the gap specifications. Refer to ignition system Specifications. Correct as necessary.




2. Install the spark plugs to the engine.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
- If installing the spark plugs to a new cylinder tighten the plugs to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
- If installing the spark plugs to an existing cylinder tighten the plugs to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

3. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
