Accelerator Controls Cable Bracket Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle body.
3. Remove the cruise control cable (1) from the bracket (2).




4. Remove the accelerator cable from the throttle body.
5. Remove the accelerator cable (2) from the bracket (1).




6. Remove the 2 bolts from the bracket.
7. Remove the bracket from the throttle body.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Do not route flexible components (hoses, wires, conduits, etc.) within 50 mm (2 in) of moving parts unless flexible components can be securely fastened. This is necessary in order to prevent possible interference and damage to the component.




1. Install the bracket to the throttle body.
2. Install the 2 bracket bolts.


NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




3. Install the accelerator cable (2) to the bracket (1).
4. Install the accelerator cable to the throttle body.




5. Install the cruise control cable (1) to the bracket (2).
6. Install the cruise control cable to the throttle body.
7. Inspect for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal.

IMPORTANT: The throttle should operate freely, without binding, between full closed and wide open throttle.

8. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
