DTC B2103

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The memory seat module (MSM) switches are normally grounded. When the power seat switches are pressed they send a 12-volt signal to the MSM. The MSM commands the driver seat to move in response to the switch inputs.

DTC DESCRIPTORs
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:
- DTC B2101 LF Seat Lumbar Horizontal Feedback Circuit Performance
- DTC B2102 LF Seat Lumbar Horizontal Feedback Circuit Low
- DTC B2103 LF Seat Lumbar Horizontal Feedback Circuit High
- DTC B2104 LF Seat Lumbar Horizontal Feedback Circuit Open
- DTC B2105 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Position Sensor Circuit
- DTC B2106 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Position Sensor Circuit Performance
- DTC B2107 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Position Sensor Circuit Low
- DTC B2108 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Position Sensor Circuit High
- DTC B2109 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Position Sensor Circuit Open
- DTC B2110 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Feedback Circuit
- DTC B2111 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Feedback Circuit Performance
- DTC B2112 LF Seat Lumbar Vertical Feedback Circuit Low

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The MSM must be powered. The MSM checks the switch inputs and the position sensor signals continuously.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
If a seat direction switch circuit is closed to 12-volt for 30 seconds after the motor controlled by that switch circuit reaches the end of its travel, the MSM sets the DTC for that switch circuit. The switch DTCs will also set if the sensor monitoring motion in the direction commanded has failed and sets a DTC.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
- A motor output driven in response to the switch considered failed is deactivated for both directions.
- All memory recall commands are ignored.
- The MSM will respond to any other switch input that has not set a DTC.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
The DTC automatically clears when the switch circuit setting the DTC is no longer active.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Steps 1 - 10:

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. Checks the existing state of the driver seat switch by using the current state of the signal parameter.
