DTC B1520
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) monitors the driver information center (DIC) switch signal circuits in order to perform various functions. The DIC switch contains 2-5 active low momentary switches, depending on option content. The IPC detects a switch activation when the signal circuit is low.
DTC DESCRIPTORs
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:
- DTC B1520 Reset Switch Input Shorted to Ground
- DTC B1521 English/Metric Switch Input Shorted to Ground
- DTC B1522 DIC Fuel Switch Input Shorted to Ground
- DTC B1523 DIC Gage Switch Input Shorted to Ground
- DTC B1524 DIC Odometer Switch Input Shorted to Ground
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The ignition is ON.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
B1520 (w/UB7 or JH8)
The IPC detects that the RESET switch signal circuit is low for greater than 60 seconds.
B1521 (w/UB7 or JH8)
The IPC detects that the ENG/MET switch signal circuit is low for greater than 60 seconds.
B1522 (w/UB7)
The IPC detects that the FUEL INFO switch signal circuit is low for greater than 60 seconds.
B1523 (w/UB7)
The IPC detects that the GAUGE INFO switch signal circuit is low for greater than 60 seconds.
B1524 (w/UB7)
The IPC detects that the ODO TRIP switch signal circuit is low for greater than 60 seconds.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The IPC ignores the malfunctioning switch circuit.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
- The current DTC becomes history when the fault is no longer present and the ignition has been cycled OFF.
- The IPC receives a clear code command from the scan tool.
