Accumulator Tube Replacement
ACCUMULATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT
TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the accumulator tube nut from the evaporator.
3. Remove the accumulator tube and the evaporator hose from the evaporator.
4. Loosen the accumulator tube nut at the accumulator.
5. Remove the accumulator tube from the accumulator.
6. Remove the accumulator tube from the vehicle.
7. Remove and discard the O-rings from the accumulator tube and the evaporator hose.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the new O-rings to the accumulator tube and the evaporator hose.
2. Install the accumulator tube to the vehicle.
3. Install the accumulator tube to the accumulator.
4. Install the accumulator tube nut to the accumulator.
Tighten the nut to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the accumulator tube and the evaporator hose to the evaporator.
6. Install the evaporator hose nut to the evaporator.
Tighten the nut to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
7. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
8. Leak test the fittings of the A/C component using the J 39400-A.
