Subject:
Buzz Type Noise/Vibration Felt in Brake and/or Accelerator Pedal (Replace Fuel Feed and Evaporative Emission Pipe Assembly)
Models:
2006-2008 Buick Lucerne
Equipped with 3.8L V6 Engine (VIN 2 - RPO L26)
Condition
Some customers may comment on a vibration that can be felt in the brake and/or accelerator pedals. This vibration may also be accompanied by a buzz type noise coming from the pedal area.
Cause
This condition may be caused by engine vibration being transmitted through the brake booster if the fuel lines are making contact with the booster. Although the fuel lines are well protected and will not rub through, the vibration can still be felt.
Correction
A new fuel feed and evaporative emission pipe assembly has been released to correct this concern. Replace the pipe assembly following the published procedures in SI. This new pipe assembly now routes under the brake booster eliminating the potential of contact.
