Installation Procedure





1. Remove the air inlet grille.
2. Install the J28467-3 strut tower tube (2) into the J28467-501 (1).





3. Remove the surge tank nuts and push pin retainer.
4. Remove the surge tank from the studs and position the tank aside.





5. Remove the engine mount strut brace bolt and nut.
6. Remove the engine mount strut brace.





7. Remove the engine mount strut bolt.
8. Remove the engine mount strut.
9. Remove the front compartment sight shield.





10. Install the J28467-2A radiator shelf tube on top of the J28467-3 strut tower tube.





11. Install the round tube of the J28467-4A front support assembly through the large hole in the J28467-2A radiator shelf tube. The hole used in the J28467-2A radiator shelf tube depends on the vehicle application.
12. Place the rubber padded foot of the J28467-4A front support assembly on the upper tie bar.
13. Install the J28467-9 7/16 in x 2.0 in quick release pin through the hole in the J28467-4A front support assembly in order to level the J28467-2A radiator shelf tube.





14. Install the J28467-1A cross bracket assembly.
15. Hand tighten the J28467-1A cross bracket assembly wing nuts.





16. Install the J28467-7A lift hook through the J28467-6A lift hook bracket.
17. Install the 1/2 in lift hook washer and J28467-34 lift hook wing nut onto the J28467-7A lift hook.





18. Install the J28467-6A assembled lift hook bracket (1) over the J28467-3 strut tower tube (2).
19. Adjust the J28467-6A assembled lift hook bracket (1) in order to align the hook with the rear engine lift hook bracket.





20. Install the J28467-7A lift hook through the rear engine lift hook bracket. Ensure the hook does not damage the surrounding components.
21. Repeat steps 18 and 19.





22. Install the J28467-6A assembled lift hook bracket (1) over the J28467-2A radiator shelf tube (2).
23. Adjust the J28467-6A assembled lift hook bracket (1) in order to align the hook with the torque strut bracket.





24. Install the J28467-7A lift hook through the engine mount strut bracket. Ensure the hook does not damage the surrounding components.
25. Hand tighten the J28467-34 lift hook wing nuts securely to remove all slack from the engine support fixture assembly.

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the J28467-7A lift hook from the engine mount strut bracket.
2. Remove the J28467-B.
3. Remove the J28467-501.





4. Install the engine mount strut.

5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Install the engine mount strut bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.).





6. Install the engine mount strut brace.
7. Install the engine mount strut brace bolt and nut.
^ Tighten the bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the nut to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.).





8. Position the surge tank to the studs.
9. Install the surge tank nuts and push pin retainer.
Tighten the nuts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
10. Install the front compartment sight shield.
11. Install the air inlet grille.
