Engine Front Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure





1. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.
2. Remove the crankshaft balancer.
3. Remove the engine front cover bolts.
4. Remove the engine front cover and gasket. The gasket is reusable. Do not discard unless it is damaged.

Installation Procedure





1. Place a small amount of sealant at the split line of the upper and lower crankcases (1). Refer to Sealers, Adhesives, and Lubricants.





2. Place the engine front cover gasket over the crankcase dowel pins.
3. Place the engine front cover in position on the crankcase.
4. Install the engine front cover bolts until snug.





5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Tighten the engine front cover bolts.
Tighten the bolts in the sequence to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Install the crankshaft balancer.
7. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
