Circuit/System Description

The vanity mirror lamps are supplied voltage from the BCM via the inadvertent power courtesy lamp circuit. When the mirror cover is open, the mirror cover switch is closed, providing a ground path for the vanity mirror lamps and illuminating the lamp.

Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, lower the sunshade and open the vanity mirror cover. The vanity mirror lamps should illuminate.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate sunshade.
2. Test for less than 10 ohms of resistance between the ground circuit terminal B and ground.

If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the control circuit terminal A and ground.

If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate vanity mirror lamp bulb.

Repair Instructions
