Rear Side Door Window Replacement

Removal Procedure





Notice: Refer to Paint Damage Notice.

1. Apply masking tape to the outer applique and frame.
2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the rear door window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
5. Lower the window far enough in order to gain access through the inner panel, unsnap the window guide retainer from the window.
6. Push inward on the window guide retainer clip locks, lift upward on the window until released from the retaining clip.
7. Lower the window regulator to the full down position.
8. Remove the window from the door.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the window in between the inner and the outer panels.

1. Point the lower front corner of the rear door window down.
2. Pass the rear door window through the belt opening.
3. Align the edges of the window with the rear door window weatherstrip.
4. Ensure that both sealing lips on the rear door outer belt sealing strip are not rolled over and pointing downward.
If this condition is present, the rear door window will not raise properly.

2. Raise the window regulator to the middle position.
3. Install the rearward window into the window guide retainer, snap the window into the window regulator.
4. Remove the masking tape.
5. Inspect the window for proper operation.
6. Install the rear door window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
7. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
