Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Use a grease pencil to mark the hinge to the rear compartment lid for the location at installation.
3. Disconnect the lid harness in the rear compartment.
4. Remove the rear compartment hinge to lid nuts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the rear compartment struts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement (Service and Repair).




6. Use a grease pencil to mark the quarter panel hinge to the quarter panel. The mark will help you align the hinge at installation.
7. Remove the bolts that attach the hinge to the rear quarter.
8. Remove the hinge from the quarter panel.

Installation Procedure

1. Align the hinge to the alignment marks that was made on the quarter panel.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the bolts that attach the hinge to the rear quarter.

Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

3. Install the rear compartment struts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Install the rear compartment lid nuts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Adjust the rear compartment lid height:

* Use an Allen wrench to turn the rear compartment hinge height adjustment bumper.
* Turn the rear compartment lid bumper by hand.

6. Close the rear compartment.
