MAINTENANCE II

1. CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER. Reset the oil life system. Refer to Service Reminder Indicators. An Emission Control Service.

2. VISUALLY INSPECT FOR ANY LEAKS OR DAMAGE. A fluid loss in any vehicle system could indicate a problem. Inspect and repair the system and inspect the fluid level. Add fluid if needed.

3. INSPECT THE ENGINE AIR CLEANER FILTER. If driving regularly under dusty conditions, inspect the filter at each oil change If necessary, replace the filter.

4. ROTATE THE TIRES AND INSPECT THE TIRE INFLATION PRESSURES AND THE TIRE WEAR.

5. INSPECT THE BRAKE SYSTEM. Visually inspect the brake lines and the hoses for proper hook-up, binding, leaks, cracks, chafing, etc. Inspect the disc brake pads for wear and inspect the rotors for surface condition. Inspect other brake parts, including the calipers, the parking brake, etc. Inspect the parking brake adjustment.

6. INSPECT THE ENGINE COOLANT AND THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID LEVELS. ADD FLUID AS NEEDED.

7. PERFORM ANY NEEDED ADDITIONAL SERVICES. Refer to Additional Required Services.

8. INSPECT THE SUSPENSION AND STEERING COMPONENTS. Visually inspect the front and rear suspension and the steering system for damaged, loose or missing parts, for signs of wear, or for lack of lubrication. Inspect the power steering lines and the hoses for proper hook-up, binding, leaks, cracks, chafing, etc.

9. INSPECT THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM. Visually inspect the hoses and replace any that are cracked, swollen or deteriorated. Inspect all pipes, fittings and clamps. Replace as needed. To help ensure proper operation, pressure test the cooling system and the pressure cap, and clean the outside of the radiator and the air conditioning condenser at least once a year.

10. INSPECT THE WIPER BLADES. Visually inspect the wiper blades for wear or cracking. Clean the windshield and wiper blades if contaminated. Replace all blade inserts that appear worn or damaged.

11. INSPECT THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM COMPONENTS. Verify that the safety belt reminder light and all of the belts, buckles, latch plates, retractors and anchorages are working properly. Look for any other loose or damaged safety belt system parts. Repair anything that might keep a safety belt system from doing the job. Replace any torn or frayed safety belts.

12. LUBRICATE THE BODY COMPONENTS. Lubricate all key lock cylinders. Lubricate all hinges and latches, including those for the body doors, hood, secondary latch, pivots, spring anchor, release pawl, rear compartment, glove box door, and console door. More frequent lubrication may be required when exposed to a corrosive environment. Applying silicone grease on weatherstrips with a clean cloth will make them last longer, seal better, and not stick or squeak.

13. INSPECT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL AND ADD FLUID AS NEEDED.

14. REPLACE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AIR FILTER. If the vehicle is driven regularly under dusty conditions, the filter may require replacement more often.

15. INSPECT THE THROTTLE SYSTEM. Inspect the throttle system for interference or binding and for damaged or missing parts. Replace parts as needed. Replace any components that have high effort or excessive wear. Do NOT lubricate the accelerator or the cruise control cables.
