Rear Side Door Window Channel Retainer Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Paint Damage Caution (Paint Damage Caution).

1. Remove the rear door frame applique. Refer to Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement ().
2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Position the window to the full down position.
5. Remove the rear door inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
6. Remove the rear door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
7. Remove the rear door window weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement).
8. Drill out the 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets (1) along the inside edge of the window channel retainer (2).
9. Remove the bolt (3) from the corner of the window channel retainer (2).
10. Remove the window channel retainer from the door.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the window channel retainer to the door.
2. Install the new 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets (1) along the inside edge of the window channel retainer (2).
3. Install the bolt (3) to the lower corner of the window channel retainer (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the bolt (3) to the lower corner of the window channel retainer (2).

Tighten the screw to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

5. Install the rear door window weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement).
Install the door window weatherstrip by working it around the door frame. Ensure that the weatherstrip is fully seated into the window channel retainer.
6. Install the rear door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
7. Install the rear door inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
8. Install the front door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement ().
9. Inspect the window for proper operation.
10. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
