Quarter Window Glass Molding / Trim




Quarter Window Finish Molding Replacement

Removal Procedure

Note: This procedure is done without removing the quarter window from the vehicle. Use the following procedure to replace the quarter window finish molding Do Not replace the window.

1. Open the rear side door.




2. Use a suitable plastic tool (2) to lift the lower corner of the finish molding (1) upward and away from the window, starting at the lower edge (1) of the window.




3. With the molding off of the vehicle, remove the sealing strip (1) from the front edge of the old molding (2) the sealing strip will be reinstall in step (1) of the installation procedure.
4. Clean any adhesive residue from the window frame, use a general purpose adhesive cleaner 3-M Part No.06397(R).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the sealing strip (1) that was removed from the original molding to the new service part. The seal strip clips on, no adhesive is required.




2. Apply ( 12.7 mm wide x 1.52 mm thick) (1/2 in.x.060 mm ) double sided tape such as 3-M Part No.06397(R) to the window frame along the edge (3) to retain the molding.
3. Remove the protective film from the double sided tape (2), install the finish molding to the window frame.
Apply firm hand pressure to ensure the molding is making full contact with the double sided tape (2).
4. Close the door, check the alignment to the sealing strip.
