Subject: Outside Rearview Mirror Mounted Turn Signal Indicator and Side Blind Zone Alert Lamps Inoperative or Intermittent Operation (Inspect Four-Way Electrical Connector)

Condition
Some customers may comment that the turn signal indicator and side blind zone alert (SBZA) lamps, mounted in the outside rearview mirrors, are inoperative or intermittent.
Cause
The condition may be caused by the four-way electrical connector on the mirror wiring harness not being securely engaged with the connector located on the back of the outside rearview mirror glass.
Correction
Note
Do not replace the outside rearview mirror assembly for this condition.
1. Remove the affected outside rearview mirror glass. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement in SI.
2. With the outside rearview mirror glass removed from the mirror housing, inspect the four-way electrical connectors. Verify that all of the pins are in the correct location and not damaged.
3. Plug the harness connector into the outside rearview mirror glass connector and ensure that they are locked together.
4. Cycle the vehicle turn signal and verify that the outside rearview mirror signal indicator is functioning.
5. Reinstall the affected outside rearview mirror glass. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement in SI.
If the condition is not corrected by the above procedure, replace the affected outside rearview mirror glass. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement in SI.
